Important League Update: All Activities Remain on Hold

Dear Warren Park Youth Baseball Little League Families,
We hope this note finds you all in good health and spirits. Please see below for a league update and for details about our (virtual) opening day, spring training tips and sponsor support.
IMPORTANT LEAGUE UPDATE All WPYBLL activities remain on hold until further notice. The WPYBLL Board continues to follow the guidance provided by Little League International and relevant authorities including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Chicago Department of Public Health.
We continue to be fully committed to providing our players with a baseball season once our state and local agencies say it is ok to do so and we can ensure a safe experience for our players and families. Everyone’s health and safety is our number one priority. At this point in time, we do not have an estimate for when the season may begin but we are hopeful to play this summer. The season may be shorter or extend later into the summer than planned. And, we are working with the Chicago Park District on contingency plans should the season become extensively delayed. For those in the Juniors, Majors, Minors and Coach Pitch divisions, you’ll be hearing from your coaches soon, if you haven’t already. Some coaches may try to get their teams together for a video call so the players can begin to get to know each other and talk some baseball. Our T-ball and Rookie teams are still being finalized and we will be in touch with those families in the coming weeks.
(VIRTUAL) OPENING DAY THIS SATURDAY!

While we can’t be together, we can still celebrate Warren Park baseball together (virtually) this Saturday. Let’s see those Little Leaguers! Have your player(s) wear last year’s Warren Park (or a fav team) jersey and get in the baseball spirit. And share photos/videos on Facebook! Tag WPYBLL's page in your posts and use the #WPYBLLTogether hashtag. We’ve provided a draft Facebook post below to make it easy.

And, keep an eye on the page for videos from our coaches and other fun posts throughout the day!
SPRING TRAINING AT HOME

Little League’s website is a fantastic resource for parents looking for ideas on how to build and practice baseball skills while at home. There is an extensive library of great skill videos here . Don’t forget to post your spring training photos/videos on Facebook tagging the WPYBLL page and using #WPYBLLTogether!
#WPYBLLTogether FOR OUR SPONSORS

Our league has benefited tremendously from our loyal and generous sponsors over the years and we’re now asking our families to show our league’s loyal and generous support to the sponsors below when and how we can. Candlelite , one of our premier sponsors (with the best thin-crust pizza in the city!), remains open for take out and delivery service, along with fellow sponsors Firehouse in Evanston and L.Woods in Lincolnwood. Supporting a sponsor? Share a post on Facebook tagging our page and using #WPYBLLTogether.
Thank you for being the best baseball community a league could ask for. And, don’t forget to share your pictures on Saturday, and to check our Facebook page throughout the day!
Yours truly in baseball, The Warren Park Youth Baseball Little League Board
